Q:Also, did you just paint it or did you use colored sculpee?
I painted it with acrylics. I used an airbrush for the skin and gold parts. after that i added a wash with some diluted blue and purple to bring out the carvings. Its really hard to paint lights on dark colored clay, so the airbrush helps alot.
Q:How long did you bake that sculpture? I'm the worst about never baking it long enough
Around 45min I think
Unfortunately i’m just as bad at baking tho since it cracked easily. A lot of people say you should use a oven thermometer but since I started dong that my stuff has been 2x as fragile, so it seems better to just rely on what you set the oven to. Slightly overbaking has less disadvantages than underbaking. As for how long, I usually just bake for 30-45 min for things that are 1cm or less thick.
This was made for a sculpting contest on Newgrounds. It won 2nd place!
The more grainy looking parts such as the orb and vines have glow in the dark paint. unfortunately even the good camera can’t pick any of it up. The slanting to the side is intentional as I was trying to give the body a curve, which became less apparent after adding the dress.
Made of sculpey firm and some epoxy to fix cracks after it fell.
Its out, the long awaited sequel to the Windows XP Destruction video. Enjoy, This computer didn’t.
